Hi ladies! Feeling a little Parisian on the blog today and loving it! Everyday when I decide on what to wear I like to put on something that makes me feel confident and chic and also a little Parisian. Parisian women are probably the most stylish women in the world. They are classy, beautiful and powerful. So why wouldn’t you want to use some of their genius tips!
1. Say no to most trends, and develop a signature look.
Having a signature item is an absolute must. A couple examples are a trench coat, a classic pair of blue jeans or a handbag.
“It’s her personality that sparkles and nothing else: the signs of intellectual wealth.”
2. Have a signature pair of shoes. (because a woman with good shoes is never ugly)
You don’t need a thousand pairs of shoes to look fabulous, you just need one or two really great pairs to get the job done.
3. When in doubt, ask yourself what a modern Coco Chanel would wear.
She redefined the way that women dressed in the early 20th century, but the look that Coco Chanel created is just as significant today. No wonder some of the most stylish Parisian women have made jeans and a Chanel jacket their uniform. Other Chanel standards you can’t go wrong in? A perfect little black dress and black and white cocktail attire.
“The only beautiful eyes are those that look at you with tenderness.”
4. Dress for yourself, and yourself only.
It’s a rule that not just stylish French women, but pretty much all stylish women have mastered, great style is about dressing for yourself and yourself only. “You should dress to feel good, not show off, “it takes life to learn that.”
“In Paris, the rules are clear; you anticipate, you prepare for the future but you never totally correct.”
5. Go from day to evening with the perfect red lip.
A quick update that French women have mastered to take their look from day to evening is the perfect red lip. No need to bring a change of clothes to work, lipstick is all it takes to add a little evening glamour to your outfit.
“Take time to take time, because nobody else will do it for you.”
