On Thursday evening my boyfriend called me and asked my plans for the weekend, I surprisingly didn’t have any so he told me to pick a destination for the weekend. I didn’t hesitate and picked Carmel. We’ve been to Carmel before and I instantly fell in love with it. I love the downtown, the restaurants and of course the beautiful coastline. This trip we did more exploring and tried some new things so I thought I would share what we found!
Now the first and most important topic is where to eat. On Sunday morning we had brunch at Mission Ranch and WOW! I’ve never had food this wonderful before. It was buffet style so you could eat as much as you wish, I recommend wearing stretchy pants or a loose dress! I honestly cannot recommend this place enough. While you ate brunch there was sheep frolicking in the field and a beautiful view of the ocean. You can also stay here but I would book my stay a couple weeks in advance because it fills up quickly!
Another breakfast/coffee stop was Cafe Carmel, they have an amazing selection and my mocha was the best I’ve ever had. For dinner we went to The Fish Hopper, call for a reservation and ask for a window seat. While we ate our clam chowder a couple sea otters were playing just below us! I really loved this restaurant, the food, the atmosphere and the staff were just lovely. Schooners Coastal Kitchen &Bar was also just as good!
There are so many hotel options in Carmel but I found this website to help you find the best! If you’re looking for something more romantic I suggest you stay at Lincoln Green Inn, we didn’t stay here this time but we are already planning a trip back to stay at this fairy tale inn.
There is so much to do in Carmel/Monterey/Pacific Grove so we had to narrow down our list since we were only there for the weekend.
~walk around and shop in Downtown Carmel
~head to the beach and have a picnic lunch
~Drive California’s Big Sur coast highway
